Australian coconut water producer, Raw C, has dropped its final new product for the year, expanding on its viral collaboration with Pistachio Papi to release a canned version for on-the-go enthusiasts.

With the popularity of functional beverages soaring, and coconut water gaining a firm foothold, it's little wonder that Raw C has been making such an impact, balancing the trendy natural hydration with strong brand collaborations. Following the success of Raw C x Pistachio Papi White Chocolate & Pistachio Infused Coconut Water, the product is now hitting shelves in a 325ml canned format, ready for summer.

Raw C founder, Scott Mendelsohn, said he was confident the new 325 ml cans will be another winner.

“After seeing such an immensely positive reaction to the 1 litre carton, we knew we had to add to the range with a format that fits every on-the-go moment,” said Mendelsohn.

The company has had a busy year, releasing its first flavoured products in November 2024, including pineapple, watermelon, sparkling lychee, sparkling ginger beer, and sparkling kola. Sparkling lychee also made its US debut in June, landing in Costco stores for the Northern Hemisphere summer.

Raw C also debuted its Pure Coconut Water Infused with Chocolate in April, which then sized up into a bottled format in August.

Pistachio Papi founder, Mark Abdelmalik, said when the company first teamed up with Raw C, it was about adding Pistachio Papi’s energy to an already iconic brand.

“Now, we’re giving people a way to take that vibe anywhere, gym, beach, party, or wherever life takes you,” said Abdelmalik.

The Raw C x Pistachio Papi White Chocolate & Pistachio Infused Coconut Water is now available in 325ml cans for a limited time at Woolworths, and select independent retailers across Australia.

Packaging News

Australia's environment ministers have declared packaging reform urgent and named soft plastics as an initial priority, but offered no firm timetable or regulatory commitments. SPSA has welcomed the soft plastics focus, while Boomerang Alliance and WMRR have raised concerns about the lack of concrete action.

Economic analysis commissioned by SPSA estimates national recycling reforms could deliver up to $278m in net productivity gains and stimulate up to $2.6b in capital investment each year.

A cross-sector open letter is urging national leaders to agree on a pathway for regulated producer responsibility schemes at the September Environment Ministers Meeting.
