Woolworths stores across Melbourne are getting a plant-based injection into the frozen section, with Aussie made food brand Buds making its first appearance in the supermarket.

Suitable for vegans and is 100 per cent GMO free, the range includes bolognese arancini balls and chicken nuggets.

All G Foods founder Jan Pacas said, “We’re so excited to be stocked in Woolworths stores across Melbourne and to offer all Aussies a local choice that doesn’t compromise on taste.”

The first appearance in Woolworths builds on the multi-million injection of capital through Woolworths Group’s venture capital and growth fund, W23.

At the time, W23 managing director Ingrid Maes said All G was at the forefront of new alternative protein production techniques.

“All G is setting out to build a global business that can help feed a growing population.

“We’re excited about the potential of All G Foods’ emerging technology and ambitious growth plans. We invest in innovative start-ups led by visionary founders, and we’re interested in backing the next wave of food innovators in Australia,” Maes said.

This followed All G securing $15.5 million in seed capital in 2021 from Clean Energy Finance Corporation, Ellerston Capital, Singapore based PE firm Triple Star Capital, Our Innovation fund founders David Shein and Geoff Levi, Monash Capital, and Andrews Meats CEO Peter Andrews.

All G launched brand Love Buds in IGA Supermarkets and food retail outlets around Australia in 2021.

A burger pattie was been the first product to market, with plant-based mince, sausages, as well as chicken and bacon alternatives in the pipeline at the time.

Buds also recently enjoyed success in the hospitality sector; partnering with Betty's Burgers for the resturaunts first ever plant-based burger.

Packaging News

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.

Pact has reported a decline in revenue and earnings for the first five months of FY26, citing subdued market demand, as chair Raphael Geminder pursues settlement of the long-running TIC earn-out dispute.
