The Brand Guy, Richard Sauerman, will reveal the forces that have propelled some of the world's biggest food brands to success, at the inaugural Food & Drink Business Live: Industry of the Future Forum 2014.

Sauerman, a motivational speaker and branding expert, describes himself as “a bloke who uses brand to help companies and people create the world they want to succeed in”.

He worked full-time in the ad industry for 20 years, and was involved in the strategic thinking and brand planning for some of the world’s most iconic brands and companies including Cola-Cola, Microsoft, Nestle, Unilever, J&J, Reckitt Benkiser, Levis, Boots, Arnott’s, and Goodman Fielder.

In 2003 Sauerman set up Brandising, a brand consultancy where he expanded his ‘brand’ area of focus beyond marketing, into all areas of the organisation. Then, in 2008, he self-published the positive psychology book, Wake Up Tiger, which he wrote for people and workers who are dissatisfied with their lives, often even in the face of their ‘success’.

“I believe that brand is a management issue, not a marketing concept, and everything can and must be driven by and aligned to your brand strategy,” Sauerman says.

“The way I engage people is based on positive psychology. My approach is to feed the hungry spirit people have for their life and their work by creating meaning, purpose, and a sense of self.”

Food & Drink Business Live: Industry of the Future Forum 2014 will bring together market leaders, independent experts and key stakeholders from across Australia’s food and beverage processing sector.

Further branding and pack design expertise will be brought to the event by panelist Jennifer O'Callaghan, MD of Sydney-based branding and pack design agency, Jam& Co.
