The dairy beverage category has a star-studded new arrival - Nestle's Milo Ready to Drink (RTD) has hit the supermarket shelves sporting 4.5 health stars.

According to Nestle, each 200mL pack equals a glass of Milo and milk, and more than half of the total sugars in the product are naturally occurring in the milk, with just over one teaspoon of added table sugar per pack.

The company also says the RTD provides kids with between 30 per cent and 50 per cent of their daily recommended calcium intake, depending on their age.

The product is made in Tasmania, and the main ingredients are fresh milk, malt barley, Australian sugar and cocoa from overseas.

The product scores a 'Green' rating according to school canteen guidelines, and is available in packs of three with a RRP of $3.99.
