Patties Foods has launched a new pie which taps into the craft beer trend.

The Four’N Twenty Craft Beer Pie has just rolled out into Coles and independent retailers in three different flavour combinations.

Using Australian Angus beef mince, the flavours variations are: Peppered Beef Pie with Dark Stout; Smoky-style Beef Pie with Pale Ale; and Classic Beef Pie with Golden Ale.

The craft beers in the recipe hail from Grand Ridge Brewery in Gippsland, Victoria.

The brewery's founder Eric Walters is an Angus beef farmer who feels the marriage of angus beef and beer is based on a keen understanding of consumers' tastes – both male and female.

The new range was quoted by participants in consumer focus groups as “something a little bit special”.

Four’N Twenty’s chose to work with Grand Ridge Brewery based on its local and International reputation for consistent top-quality beers.

Other recent Four’N Twenty innovations include the Beef, Cheese and Vegemite Pie and the Toppers range.

RRP is $8.65 for a four-pack of the new pies.
