Bega Cheese brand, Dairy Farmers, has released two new flavours of its Protein Smoothies range for Australians looking to get sporty this summer – Vanilla and Mango.

The focus on adding protein into consumer diets for everyday nutrition has become a strong trend since the tail end of 2024, with dozens of companies releasing high-protein versions of existing products, or releasing new options with a protein hit.

Bega Group senior brand manager, Anne Scott, said the company has seen strong demand for Dairy Farmers Protein Smoothies since launch.

“Australians are clearly embracing the convenience and nutrition they offer,” said Scott.

“We’re excited to launch our new Vanilla and Mango flavours, which are all about celebrating summer and giving people more of what they love.”

Since releasing the Dairy Farmers Protein Smoothies range in April, the company stated over 5 million bottles have been sold across Australia, or 15 bottles every minute since launch.

Each bottle packs 30 grams of protein, prebiotics for gut health, electrolytes for hydration, and 9 essential nutrients. The new Vanilla and Mango flavours join a range that already includes Chocolate, Banana Honey, and Mixed Berry.

Dairy Farmers Protein Smoothies are now available at major retailers nationwide, for RRP $4.50 in a 400ml bottle.

Packaging News

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
