Australian health food company Bounce has launched a new vegan range of balls utilising plant-based protein.

Bounce's nutritionist Susie Burrell says the combination of pea and brown rice proteins replicates the amino acid chain of whey protein. So by skipping the whey, there’s no missing out on essential amino acids that the body doesn’t produce naturally.

There is 22-23 per cent protein per ball, and no lactose or gluten. They are also GMO-free, with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

The ingredients are also cold-pressed to maintain ingredient integrity for optimum nutrition.

The first two new flavours launched in the range include Almond Kale, with 8.8g plant protein, functional ingredients, and antioxidants; and Cashew Peanut, with vitamins and minerals such as B, E and manganese. With 9.2g plant protein, it combines cashews, peanuts, and other nuts.

The range is sold at Coles for an RRP of $3.29 per ball.
