Patties Foods has appointed Steven Chaur, the former regional MD of industrial company Saint-Gobain, as its new managing director.

Chaur, who has also held general manager positions at Tip Top Bakeries (Southern), Findus Australasia and National Foods, Tasmania, will take the helm at the frozen food manufacturer from April 15.

Chaur takes over from acting joint chief executives Michael Knaap and Tim Peters.

“The Board is delighted to have an executive of Steven’s calibre to lead the company. His appointment is the result of an extensive search process,” Patties chairman Mark Smith said.

"Steven has a strong track record in transforming companies in the baking, dairy and frozen food industries through operational improvement, brand innovation-led growth and a customer-driven culture."

Smith said Knaap and Peters would continue in their respective roles as chief financial officer/company secretary, and head of sales.

Patties Foods brand portfolio includes Four’N Twenty, Herbert Adams, Nanna’s, Patties, Creative Gourmet and Chef’s Pride.
