Platformer technology from distributor Select Equip, which will be on show at Foodpro in July, claims to provide 'the missing link' between thermoforming and tray sealing lines.

With the combination of the Mondini Trave with the Mondini Platformer, a packaging line can become what could be defined as a thermosealer, offering the best of both worlds.

The unique LIP forming done during the sealing process generates high-quality platformed trays, according to the company.

You can switch from thermoformed in-line trays from a reel, or premade trays, at any moment in time during production, according to the needs of your business.

Platformer technology cuts the tray's footprint before the forming process occurs, reducing the scrap to just one per cent.

An additional benefit is that the tray format changeover time is less than 10 minutes, with only two components needing to be changed.

Depending on market conditions, customer demands and needs of the business, processors will have full flexibility to choose whichever solution is most beneficial at the time.

Select Equip will display the technology at Foodpro 2017 this July.
