Processing and packaging equipment company Tna has appointed a new group product manager - processing to head up the company's expanding processing portfolio.

Carel Pfaff, formerly of food processing companies like Kiremko and Haas-Mondomix, will be based in TNA’s Woerden facility in the Netherlands.

Pfaff will be responsible for the company’s entire processing portfolio, including its FOODesign and Florigo frying technology.

He will work closely with TNAs engineers and global sales team to further develop the company’s processing portfolio, capabilities and services, according to the company.

“The processing side of our business has grown exponentially over the last few years,” TNA's chief sales officer Peter Oussoren said.

“There is particularly high demand for our innovative frying technology as manufacturers are starting to see the long-term benefits this type of equipment can have on their overall profitability levels.

“With his technical expertise, engineering skills and customer service experience, Carel will be instrumental in finding the right solutions for all of our customers’ needs.”

The ACCC has instituted court proceedings against Clorox Australia, owner of GLAD-branded kitchen and garbage bags, over alleged false claims that bags were partly made of recycled 'ocean plastic'.

In news that is disappointing but not surprising given the recent reports on the unfolding Qenos saga, the new owner of Qenos has placed the company into voluntary administration. The closure of the Qenos Botany facility has also been confirmed.

An agreement struck between Cleanaway and Viva Energy will see the two companies undertake a prefeasibility assessment of a circular solution for soft plastics and other hard-to-recycle plastics.
