Vikan AS in Denmark has announced new technology in food-grade brushware.

The company claims its Vikan Ultra Safe Technology (UST) brushware exceeds standards of safety without the use of non-EU Food Contact approved resins found in resin set brushware.

It says resin set brushes are not fully mounded, use toxic resins that are not recyclable, and have a poor hygienic design.

Vikan UST brushware, through the design of Filament Security Units, delivers secure filament retention.

The product is a one-piece hot moulded brush, including handle and filaments.

The spacing of the bristles' security units makes the product easy to clean, sanitise and inspect, and all products have been validation-tested.

Vikan’s distributors in Australia and New Zealand, WR & D Wells and Wells Hygiene, have taken delivery of their first shipment of Vikan UST brushware.
