SPX FLOW has released its new Gerstenberg Schröder Butter Bulk Packer BP5000 that prioritises safety and ease of use, building with the latest technology and innovation in the field.

Using the latest technology and innovation in the field, SPX FLOW's experts built this bulk packer to meet all European standards, while being easier and safer to use.

Safety features include a liner that closes before the carton leaves the machine, ensuring no exposure to free air outside the machine, which reduces the risk of airborne yeast and mold contamination; covered lining rolls; an enclosed packaging machine; an optional clean air filter that maintains cleaner air around the product filing area; transparent, noise-reducing safety doors to ensure safety and ease of use, and integrated working platform for service.

For operators, new technology allows for better operation and maintenance and, in turn, reduced downtime, including improved automation – with remote monitoring – including a fault diagnostic system for easy service and maintenance; operation featuring easily changeable liner rolls, and flexible settings like easy changeover from 25 kg to 10 kg output.

The fully-automated bulk packer separates semi-solid fat into individual product portions — from 10 kg to 25 kg cartons. While primarily used for butter, it can also be used for other types of crystalized fat, including vegetable fats and dairy blends.

Packaging News

The World Packaging Organisation has named 234 winners for the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026, which were selected from 481 entries submitted across 36 countries.

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
