Heat transfer company Teralba Industries has upgraded its range of tubular heat exchangers within the Dimpleflo range.

They have been improved to further increase turbulence, leading to higher efficiency and heat transfer co-efficients, according to the company, especially when heating or cooling viscous or fouling product.

The Dimplelfo Tube-in-Tube design is claimed to be virtually un-blockable, even when processing products such as jams, purees, toffee, and pet foods.

The increased turbulence within the tube wall self-cleans the heat exchanger, minimising maintenance costs and the downtime when the system is off line for cleaning.

The six o’clock position in the base of each heat exchanger has a clear draining passage which means the Dimpleflo aids the draining of product and heating/cooling media.

The heat exchangers are manufactured in Australia from 304 or 316 stainless steel and can be engineered to withstand pressures of up to 25 bar (362psi), in the product flow path.

They are ideally suited to food processing plants cooling jam and heating toffee.
