Kellogg has rolled out a new superfood-infused cereal range under the Special K brand that contains oats, quinoa, pepita seeds and cranberries.

According to Kellogg, Special K Nourish is a wholesome cereal option that is high in fibre, and contains whole grains and protein, and the new product release follows on from the company's reformulation in February of the original Special K cereal.

“Special K has changed. It’s taking a new, healthier direction in 2014 and the launch of Special K Nourish is the next significant step,” Kate Harris, senior brand manager for Special K says.

“After revamping the Special K flake recipe, we wanted to create some even more nutritious options for Aussie women who we know are looking for quick, great tasting breakfast options which help them feel good about their choices and maintain a healthy lifestyle.”

The new cereal comes in three flavours: Special K Nourish Blackcurrant, Apple & Pepita; Special K Nourish Wildberry, Raisin & Pepita; and Special K Nourish Apricot, Cranberry & Almond.

Kellogg has also appointed Karen Martini, chef and judge on TV show My Kitchen Rules, as the Special K Nourish ambassador and she has developed six exclusive recipes to highlight the ‘key’ ingredients – quinoa, pepita seeds, cranberries, oats and pink lady apples.

Special K Nourish is available from Coles, Woolworths and leading independent supermarkets nationwide for a recommended retail price of $5.99.
