The sauce shelf has been overhauled with three new packaging labels announced by key brands in recent weeks.

Fountain, Rosella, and Dick Smith have each announced bottle label makeovers, with a fresh focus on natural ingredients and local flavours.

Manufactured by Cerebos, the Fountain brand has received a packaging overhaul with new on-pack information and imagery stating whether a variant is gluten-free or has no artificial colours and flavours.

“The changes have been made based on loyal consumer insights that found home cooks prefer products to have clear labelling, in addition to useful tips and suggestions to help them to make decisions on which sauces to use at home,” Fountain brand manager Gillian O'Brien said.

Sabrands' Rosella has also seen a logo refresh on its 600ml tomato sauce bottles, with the rosella bird now seen to be taking flight.

Designed by Melbourne's Disegno, the logo was changed to represent the company's colourful history “in a modern and evolving style”, according to the team behind it.

And over at Dick Smith Foods, the design of OzEsauce has seen a change to reflect its “all-natural” ingredients, according to the company.

“The sauce still has its rich tomato flavour, but is newly improved with all natural ingredients,” a spokesperson said.
