Three food and beverage companies have been named in the top twenty most attractive employers in Australia, and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) was named the second most attractive industry sector to work in.

According to the annual employer branding research by recruitment agency Randstad, Nestle was named the sixth most attractive employer in Australia, Coca-Cola Amatil came in eight place and Mondelez was in the 20th spot.

Of the 12,000 Australians surveyed, 41 per cent said they would like to work in the FMCG sector.

The sector, which was topped only by the aviation sector, in particular appealed to job seekers wanting work-life balance, a pleasant atmosphere and a financially healthy career.

Steve Shepherd, employment market analyst at Randstad Australia, says businesses within the FMCG space continue to do an impressive job in building strong brands, strengthening their corporate image and reputation, which in turn attracts great talent.

“All businesses, whether large or small, have characteristics and qualities which form the basis of its image, brand and reputation.

"To be as appealing as possible to potential employees, organisations need to promote these defining characteristics through every aspect of its marketing, communication, HR and employer branding strategies, something the FMCG sector does very well,” Shepherd says.
