Freedom Foods Group is rolling out its own A2 milk products under the umbrella of a new Australia's Own Dairy-branded range.

The new UHT Australia’s Own Dairy range will initially include a 1L and 2L long-life format and will offer a range of standard milks and A2 Protein Milks.

The company's Australia’s Own brand is now the leading imported kid’s milk brand in China, and Freedom Foods is now the largest UHT beverage manufacturer in Australia.

The company said Australia’s Own will drive the company’s branded dairy ambitions locally and abroad, with the range to also be rolled out into South East Asia and China.

“With the significant expansion of our dairy processing capabilities, the company is well positioned to take advantage of changing industry dynamics and increased internal capabilities to launch an expanded range of dairy products,” Freedom Foods managing director and CEO Rory Macleod said.

Nutritional advisor for Freedom Foods Dr Joanna McMillan said: “Although still in preliminary stages, research is building to suggest that the A1 protein type does cause digestive problems for some people.

“For them, milk containing the A2 protein type and free of A1 protein allows them to continue to benefit from milk nutrition.

"Having a long-life A2 Protein Milk offering is a welcome addition to the range, being both convenient and helping to minimise food waste.”
