WCB hopes to milk the growing trend of savoury snacking with new ranges for the Coon Cheese and Cracker Barrel brands.

WCB says the new ranges are a part of a broader overhaul of its cheese portfolio which includes a broader portioning and packaging rethink to better meet consumer's evolving needs.

The new Coon range comes in 20 gram portions with 8 pieces per pack, and the new Cracker Barrel snacks feature one of their most popular cheddars, Vintage Sharp.

In other changes, Cracker Barrel has been given a new look and feel to appeal to a broader audience, and Coon Colby, Tasty and Mil Lel Parmesans' shred ranges are also available in new easy open packaging and come in consumer friendly sizes, says WCB.

The creation of the new ranges and other improvements to existing products represents one of the biggest makeovers of these brands in decades, says WCB general manager of marketing, Ted Lawson.

"People are leading increasingly busy lifestyles where they snack on the go, so we wanted to create an offering that made it easy and convenient to enjoy these time-honoured classics from Coon and Cracker Barrel."

Coon Snacks are retailing for $4.99 and Cracker Barrel Snacks for $5.49.
