As Easter arrives, supermarkets have released their seasonal hot cross bun offerings onto shelves, with Woolworths, Coles and ALDI offering up new flavour combinations alongside the traditional baked good.

Released last year, Woolworth’s has returned its Cadbury Caramilk Hot Cross Buns, offering a larger quantity of packs in store and online after selling out in five weeks in 2022. The Woolworths Indulgent Hot Cross Buns with Cadbury Caramilk are available in a four pack for $5.00.

At Aldi, whether you’re a traditionalist or not, its Baker’s Life range offers eight types of award-winning buns, including: Chocolate Hot Cross Buns, Mini Fruit Hot Cross Buns, Fruit Hot Cross Buns, Fruitless Hot Cross Buns, Indulgent Traditional Fruit Hot Cross Buns, Indulgent Brioche Style Hot Cross Buns, Apple & Cinnamon Hot Cross Buns, and Indulgent Salted Caramel & Choc Fudge Hot Cross Buns, all available in packs of 4 or 6 or mini packs of 9 for $3.49.

Coles raised eyebrows with a burger-inspired savoury hot cross bun option, and followed-up with two new sweet-tooth options.

Packaging News

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.

Pact has reported a decline in revenue and earnings for the first five months of FY26, citing subdued market demand, as chair Raphael Geminder pursues settlement of the long-running TIC earn-out dispute.
