Australian kombucha brand Remedy has launched a new flavour of Cherry Plum, pairing sweet red cherry with native Kakadu plum.

The no-sugar drink is made by following a traditional fermenting process involving sweet tea and a live culture known as SCOBY (symbiotic community of bacteria and yeast).

It is also filled with organic acids (AKA short chain fatty acids) that are good for gut health and overall wellbeing, according to the company.

Emmet Condon, co-founder of Remedy, said the team's mission was to make real, traditional, healthy drinks more accessible to consumers.

“New flavours not only excite our existing loyal Remedy drinkers, but they also offer a way to reach new consumers. We find trial is the best way to convert consumers into kombucha drinkers," he said.

“We are also excited to be using the native Australian ingredient of Kakadu plum. We’ve been wanting to add native ingredients into the mix since we started out.”

Cherry Plum is certified organic, vegan, gluten-free, fructose-free, and paleo-friendly.

The Remedy Kombucha brand in Australia will be supported by a national integrated campaign across print and digital advertising, as well as social media.

Remedy Kombucha Cherry Plum is available in independent supermarkets, health food stores, grocers, cafes, restaurants, bars, yoga studios, and gyms.

RRP is $4.50 for the 330ml glass bottle and $8.75 for the 750ml glass bottle.
