Melbourne-based Brewmanity Beer Co has partnered with Coles Liquor to launch the limited-edition Brewmanity Ice Cold Lager, supporting motor neurone disease (MND) awareness and research organisation, FightMND.

Brewmanity Beer Co’s mission is making good beer that does good deeds. Co-founded by former Melbourne Football Club Captain, David Neitz, was inspired by helping former coach, Neale Daniher, in his battle against MND.

Brewed locally in South Melbourne, the Brewmanity Ice Cold Lager is made using Australian grown malts and hops.

Coles Liquor will donate over $70,000 to the cause for the launch, in addition to sales of the 10-year anniversary Big Freeze Beanies, and in-store customer donations.

Coles Liquor Group chief executive, Michael Courtney, said it was an honour for the company to be part of such an impactful initiative.

“In 2023, the first year of the partnership, we fundraised more than $283,000 for FightMND, and we’re confident our efforts this year will take us to a new milestone.

“For our customers wanting to make a difference, they can make a $2 donation or a donation to a sum of their choice at the checkout of our national Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars stores from Wednesday 22nd May to Sunday 16th June.”

Brewmanity Beer Co co-founder, David Neitz, thanked Coles Liquor for supporting FightMND’s mission.

“At Brewmanity we’re about good beer, good times, and good deeds and the Ice Cold Lager culminates just that. Our mission has always been simple, to produce quality beer and help raise funds to fight the beast that is MND.

“We’re proud to push the boundaries of what traditional beer tastes like, and in the tenth year of the Big Freeze we’ve brewed a beer specifically suited for Neale.”

The launch comes after Brewmanity Beer Co opened Melbourne’s first rooftop brewery bar in March, for customers to observe the South Melbourne skyline from three stories up.

The limited edition Brewmanity Beer Co Ice Cold Lager 4-pack is available online and in- store at Liquorland, First Choice Liquor Market and Vintage Cellars stores nationwide for RRP $14, until 18 June, or while stocks last.
