A sugar alternative combining a natural blend of plant-derived sweetener and Australian-grown cane sugar is now on the market.

Skinny Sugar offers to give sweetness to cakes, biscuits and jams with 50 per cent less sugar and calories.

Although it tastes sweet, the body doesn’t break it all down to produce energy, says the company.

Unlike some alternative sweeteners, Skinny Sugar is designed for baking.

Consumers are directed to replace the usual amount of sugar in their favourite recipe for Skinny Sugar, which promises no bitter, metallic aftertaste.

Skinny Sugar is also diet-friendly and helps to limit tooth decay.

It is also the first product to be endorsed by the Country Women’s Association of Australia (CWAA). Proceeds from the sale will assist CWAA’s work advancing the rights and equity of women, families and communities, especially those living in rural, regional and remote Australia.

Skinny Sugar is sold in White (all purpose) and Raw variants in Woolworths nationally. RRP is $6.50 for 400g pack.
