Krispy Kreme Australia's created a blast from the past with its limited edition doughnut range, Throwback Party.

Krispy Kreme Australia chief marketing officer Russell Schulman says a love of reminiscing about childhood memories and especially when tied to the food and pop culture of the time inspired the range. “We wanted to capture that and express it in the best way possible by creating a limited-edition doughnut range that Krispy Kreme fans of all ages can enjoy and celebrate these memories."

The company has also created a a virtual arcade on its Instagram with four doughnut-themed versions of 90s-inspired video games – Cookie Dough’s Krispy Kart, Finger Bun Fighter, Fairy Bread Fantasy and Choc Brownie Batter Bash.

The games will be playable through Instagram and Facebook stories, encouraging users to swipe up to play and a top scores leaderboard where fans can compete to win prizes.

The Krispy Kreme Throwback Party range is on sale nationally in stores, online and in 7-Eleven until 29 May.
