Mineba Intec’s new Mitus metal detector uses MiWave technology to reduce false rejects and ensure high product quality, assisting check weighing processes in the meat substitute industry.

Mitus in combination with MiWave technology enables precise detection of metallic foreign bodies even with the largest product effects, which can occur frequently, especially with meat-type products.

With MiWave, a multitude of frequencies are modulated onto the transmitted signal, which are then separated and evaluated separately by an intelligent algorithm. With the help of this separation, the products can be inspected symbolically from several perspectives. Due to this significantly increased information content, high search sensitivities can be achieved despite large product effects. The result for producers: maximum product safety and maximum output.

Mitus can also be easily combined with additional weighing technology if required.

The Mitus is available in standard sizes as a rectangular, round or compact detection coil as well as a free-fall and pipeline application, so that it can be integrated into production facilities even where space is limited and depending on requirements.

Packaging News

The World Packaging Organisation has named 234 winners for the WorldStar Packaging Awards 2026, which were selected from 481 entries submitted across 36 countries.

ACOR is calling on the Government to urgently introduce packaging reforms or risk the collapse of Australia’s plastic recycling sector and face millions of tonnes of plastic waste polluting the environment.

As 2025 draws to a close, it is clear the packaging sector has undergone one of its most consequential years in over a decade. Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
