Alanna Sapwell at Rebel Rebel

If the future is female, Alanna Sapwell is leading the way for chefs in Australia, and this is your chance to see her in action on 18 March.

Her talent at Brisbane’s ARC Dining saw her nominated for Chef of the Year and New Restaurant of the Year at the 2020 Good Food Guide awards, and Sapwell has become a name to watch, known for her ardent support of ethical farming and native produce, and as an encouraging leader for her team in the ARC kitchen.

Joining forces with industry legend Sean McConnell at this exclusive event for Good Food Month presented by Citi, Sapwell will be spending the evening in the kitchen of McConnell’s most recent restaurant and newest darling of the NewActon precinct, Rebel Rebel.

McConnell has long been pushing the boundaries of his menus. Newcomer Rebel Rebel follows in the footsteps of McConnell’s former restaurant Monster Kitchen and Bar as an upscale all-day diner, but this time with a straight-up menu that takes inspiration from the chef’s travels throughout Europe.

Along with a playful 70s hit-list that streams throughout the moody space designed by Sam Rice, Rebel Rebel is a venue that’s not afraid to go its own way.

This event is set to be one of the hottest tickets at this year’s Good Food Month as the two rule-breaking chefs collaborate on a multiple-course, thoughtful menu that combines McConnell’s personality-driven style and Sapwell’s considered way of cooking.
