The voluntary administration of Recycling Plastics Australia has placed about 60 Adelaide jobs and a significant part of Australia’s plastics-processing capacity at risk, intensifying industry criticism of the Federal Government’s decision not to introduce a national packaging scheme during its current term.

The Federal Government has told packaging stakeholders that it will not introduce a new Commonwealth packaging scheme during its current term, as Environment Ministers prepare to meet in September.
