Food & Drink Business, in collaboration with IBISWorld, proudly presents this year’s Top 100 Australian Food & Drink Companies 2017 report, which reveals the state of play among Australia's largest food and beverage companies.

In this special edition, you'll discover the big moves of Australia's top ten companies, the top performing industry sectors, and find out which companies soared up the list on rising revenues.

The annual Top 100 ranks companies in order of their most recently reported revenue, and we saw some interesting shifts this year, including a major move in the top 10 ranks by Treasury Wine Estates, which rose four spots to number five.

The list also shows which sectors performed well over the past year. Milk and cream processing and sugar thrived, for instance, with companies like A2 Milk and Mackay Sugar, rising quickly up the rankings this year, while beef companies did it a little tougher, with NH Foods Australia, and G & K O'Connor seeing falling revenues.

Several new companies entered this year's Top 100, either though market consolidation or organic growth, including Como Glasshouse, SPG Group, Sydney Fish Market, and Vitaco.

In news that is disappointing but not surprising given the recent reports on the unfolding Qenos saga, the new owner of Qenos has placed the company into voluntary administration. The closure of the Qenos Botany facility has also been confirmed.
