The Keep Australia Beautiful (KAB) Foundation and Coca Cola Foundation have announced the winners of their 2016 Beverage Container Recycling Grants.

The annual program, now in its eighth year, has helped communities reduce their impact on the environment by supporting grassroots programs that encourage the recycling and reuse of beverage containers.

Part of KAB’s role is to support local communities in tackling litter and diverting waste from landfill and the overall future-proofing of the environment.

This year, over $455,000 in grant funds were allocated to 51 groups and organisations around Australia.
