Arnott’s has collaborated with Gelato Messina on three new Tim Tam flavour combinations specifically designed to be chilled like the gelatos that inspired them.

The new flavours are Choc Cherry Coconut, Iced Coffee and Turkish Delight, and the heat senstivive pack has also been designed to change after four hours in the fridge, with the writing turning from white to blue.

The film is printed by Amcor Flexibles and consists of two layers, which the thermochromic ink is sandwiched between, together with the other colours, Hannes Keyser, program manager - Packaging Development at Arnott's, told PKN.

"Amcor and the Arnott’s development team executed numerous trials to ensure all technical requirements and quality measures were met," he says, noting that some proprietary techniques have been applied which can't be shared."

Tim Tam marketing manager Claire Kesby-Smith said, “After the huge success of the first range of Tim Tam by Gelato Messina we knew we couldn’t make this a one-off partnership.”

“With the help of the gelato experts we’ve created three new flavours best served straight from the fridge to keep Aussies cool as the temperatures rise this summer.”

Gelato Messina co-owner Declan Lee said: “We were thrilled to be approached by Arnott’s again and embark on some brand-new Tim Tam flavour experiments.

“We’ve delved deep into our gelato flavour bank and, after the popularity of last year’s range, we knew we had to come back with some exciting new combinations.”

The new range of Tim Tams by Gelato Messina are available nationally from 5 February, and will be priced at $3.65.
