Online retailer CatBox is cashing in on the pet humanisation trend with the launch of a new catnip-infused red and white wine range for cats.

The cutely named range includes varietals like 'Pinot Meow', 'CatBernet', 'MosCATo' and 'White Kittendel'.

The wines are made from organic non-alcoholic ingredients that have been designed to give cats a “natural high”.

CatBox stresses that normal alcohol is dangerous for cats, and that cat wine has catnip as the key ingredient triggering feelings of “euphoria or overwhelming happiness, making them playful for a short period of time”.

"CatBox is proud to announce an exclusive partnership with Apollo Peak, as we continue to bring the very best to Australian felines and their humans," CatBox founder Jason Theofilos said.

"Cat wine in particular gives cat owners the opportunity to have a drink with their furry friends in a fun and unique way. We often come back from work and want to unwind - with a glass - this way we can also treat our cats as a shared and entertaining experience."

Humanisation trends in the global pet industry continue to grow, according to the company, and Australia is no exception with cats increasingly viewed as a member of the family, especially among Millennials.

CatBox describes itself as a community of cat lovers, focused on bringing great experiences to cats and their owners in Australia.

“Cats, like their humans, are discerning individuals and CatBox understands how important it is to provide high quality and well curated experiences that are special, different and cannot be found elsewhere in Australia,” the company says.
