William Grant & Sons is relaunching the scotch whisky liqueur Drambuie with a series of themed evenings at the Sydney bar The Swinging Cat.

The Drambuie three-month bar activation ‘A Night with the Nail’ will take place every Thursday for three months at the New Orleans-inspired underground bar in Sydney’s CBD.

In addition to relaunching the brand, the evenings also aim to revive Drambuie's best-known cocktail, The Rusty Nail, and will feature a range of new Drambuie cocktails.

Drambuie is a made from a blend of aged scotch whisky infused into a selection of spices and heather honey. The Rusty Nail was born in the New York nightclubs of the early 60s and served at the ‘21 Club’ which was frequented by Hemmingway, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and JFK, according to William Grant & Sons.

The cocktail was more recently the drink of choice of Saul Goodman and featured in the very first episode of Netflix’s TV series Better Call Saul.

William Grant & Sons says the process by which Drambuie is made has remained largely unchanged over the years and remains top secret, known only by two people in the company to this day.
