B2B marketplace Yume will host its first webinar in its From Trash into Treasure series this Friday, 13 March, in an aim to reframe the approach to food waste in Australia. The free series will invite experts to share the latest trends and solutions for businesses to overcome their food waste challenges.

Already 125 registrations have come through in the lead up to Friday's session, which will see Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre special advisor food waste Mark Barthel as the first speaker in the series. He will share publicly – for the first time – the Australian Voluntary Commitment Program.

Barthel will cover the current state of food waste in Australia, outline the National Food Waste Strategy [Implementation] Roadmap and discuss the “art of the possible”, looking at what food businesses can do to reduce food waste.

Barthel has worked in food and agricultural sustainable innovation for 25 years, with more than half that time quantifying and preventing food loss and waste around the world.

Yume’s From Trash into Treasure webinar series is supported by Suez, and its media partner is Food & Drink Business.
