As of 1 September, Australian Wine Holdco’s (AWL) global wine business, Vinarchy, has assumed full distribution of its wine portfolio acquired from Pernod Ricard in May – including Jacob’s Creek, Stoneleigh, Church Road and Campo Viejo.

The brands can now be ordered directly through Vinarchy in Australia and New Zealand, following the conclusion of a short transitional distribution arrangement with Pernod Ricard. The transition is backed by dedicated local teams in both markets, including a newly formed commercial team in New Zealand under general manager, Kiri Hyde, to accelerate the growth of Vinarchy’s global and regional brands.

Vinarchy was created in May 2025 through the merger of Accolade Wines and Pernod Ricard’s wine portfolios in Australia, New Zealand and Spain, making it one of the world’s largest dedicated wine companies.

Former Carlton & United Breweries (CUB) CEO, Danny Celoni, has been leading Vinarchy since August. The company also announced in June that Berri Estates in the Riverland will be its primary commercial winemaking, packaging, and warehousing hub, with Adelaide as its global corporate headquarters.

Vinarchy managing director Australia and New Zealand, Andrew Clarke, said the distribution change strengthens the company’s leadership position in wine and long-term commitment to growing the category.

“This is a major milestone for Vinarchy, enabling us to work even more closely with our trade partners across our portfolio of incredible brands,” said Clarke.

“We are excited to be able to deliver an even stronger wine focus and offer for our customers and consumers and look forward to working together to grow the wine category.”

Vinarchy will continue to partner with Hancocks in New Zealand to distribute and represent the legacy Accolade portfolio of brands including Grant Burge, Mud House and Jam Shed. In other markets around the world, Vinarchy has partnered with local distributors to ensure continuity and growth of these brands.

Consolidation at the top, restructuring in the middle, and bold innovation at the edges have reshaped the industry’s horizons. At the same time, regulators, brand owners and recyclers have inched closer to a new circular operating model, even as policy clarity remains elusive.
