In advance of the much-anticipated publication of the Food & Drink Business and IBISWorld Australia's Top 100 Food & Drink Companies 2019 report, we speak to senior industry analyst at IBISWorld Tom Youl about what to expect in this year’s report.

The annual Australia's Top 100 Food & Drink Companies report is published exclusively by Food & Drink Business and marks a long-standing collaboration between Food & Drink Business and data provider IBISWorld.

The food and beverage manufacturing sector generates over $110 billion dollars in annual revenue, and is a crucial cog in the Australian economy. The report lists the top 100 food and beverage manufacturers in Australia, as ranked by revenue, and tracks each company's performance over the past 12 months, which paints a picture of the trends that have impacted food and drink businesses over the year. In addition, IBISWorld industry analysis outlines the key economic forces and market movement that are affecting food and drink firms.

Last week, at our annual Food & Drink Business + PKN LIVE breakfast forum attended by 120 delegates, including IBISWorld senior industry analyst Tom Youl, we asked him for some insight into how the report is shaping up.

Youl outlined what this year's report will cover, the key trends that have impacted the major players, and hinted at some jostling for position in the line-up. Take a look and listen:

The 2019 report, sponsored by automation, robotics and integration specialist Foodmach, will be published in the November-December issue of Food & Drink Business, and will be available for download on our website after publication. You can find the 2018 report here.
