Nestlé brand, Uncle Tobys, has signed on for a three-year partnership with the Heart Foundation, aiming to help Australians understand the benefits of including rolled oats in their everyday diet.

Heart health is a significant concern among Australians, with the Australian Bureau of Statistics reporting around 30 per cent of the population lives with high cholesterol, a known risk factor impacting heart health.

Uncle Tobys rolled oats naturally contain beta-glucan, a special type of fibre which can help address this risk by working to lower cholesterol. Each serve of Uncle Tobys Traditional Rolled Oats and Uncle Tobys Quick Rolled Oats contains 1.6 grams of beta-glucan per 40 grams, and just 3 grams of beta-glucan is required each day to help lower cholesterol as part of a diet low in saturated fat.

Uncle Tobys Oats marketing head, Kimberley Finsten, said the collaboration with the Heart Foundation aims to inspire Australians to enjoy rolled oats as part of their regular routine to help manage cholesterol and support heart health.

“Together, we’re working to make a positive impact to all Australians, one bowl at a time,” said Finsten.

Partnership activity will kick-off with Heart Week in early May with heart healthy recipes and on-pack information on the role of beta-glucan. Consumers can look out for the Heart Foundation logo on Uncle Tobys oats packs from the second half of the year, and visit the Uncle Tobys website for heart healthy recipes, or to learn more about healthy breakfast habits for your heart.

Heart Foundation CEO, David Lloyd, welcomed the partnership and said it would help the Heart Foundation work towards its vision for an Australia free of heart disease.

“By working together with Uncle Tobys, we can help more people in Australia manage their cholesterol and support heart health,” said Lloyd.

Uncle Tobys Traditional Rolled Oats and Uncle Tobys Quick Rolled Oats are available at major food retailers and select independent retailers in both a 500g and 1kg box.
