Food processing and packaging equipment specialist tna has opened a new regional office in Johannesburg, South Africa, as it continues to execute its global expansion strategy.

The announcement closely follows news of a new European manufacturing hub in the UK for the company and a representative office in Brazil to better service customers in those areas.

tna sales and service staff will be located in the South African office to provide the company with a direct link to a growing local customer base in South Africa and across the wider African continent.

The company said that as the continent’s largest economy and with rapidly rising levels of urbanisation and increased consumer spending over the past few years, South Africa was a key market for the global packaging industry.

“We’ve been actively involved in the African market for over 10 years and are excited about the opportunity to provide our customers here with a dedicated contact base,” tna managing director, Michael Green, said.

“Our new office in Johannesburg will not only allow us to react to local trends and developments quickly, but more importantly it will enable us to better serve our growing customer base in the region.

“Together with our representative in Egypt, we are now very well positioned to cater for the specific needs of customers across the entire African continent,” he said.

The new office is the company’s third facility opening this year. In recent months it has also announced the introduction of a new office in São Paulo, Brazil and the launch of its European manufacturing hub in Birmingham, UK.
