tna (02 9714 2300) has helped the NSW-based Confectionery Trading Company (CTC) increase its output and reduce waste with the installation of its tna robag.
After installing the tna robag 3, tna customised its flagship VFFS (vertical form, fill and seal) bagger to handle the sugary confections being packed, however, loose sugar was making its way into the seals, hampering the sealing process. tna quickly resolved this issue by incorporating a dust extraction unit to keep the sugar away from the seals.
CTC faced another challenge with high sealing temperatures causing the bottoms of its heavier 2kg bags to open. To address this issue, tna installed multi-dumping and stagger-delay technology from tna-Yamato, allowing the jaws sufficient time to cool.
“We had used tna equipment in the past so were familiar with its solutions-focused approach and quality after sales service,” said Dean Theouli, director of CTC. “tna took the time to understand our business, carefully assess our needs and assess where we could improve and economise along our packaging line. We now have three of the tailored tna robag installed on site and are reaping the benefits.”
In terms of speed, throughput levels now reach 140bpm, with product rejects remaining under one per cent.
