The Steggles Roosters Charity Nest has welcomed Ronald McDonald House Charities Australia (RMHC) Australia and Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation, accompanied by two other nominated charities, the Children's Cancer Institute and Children's Hospital Foundation Queensland.
Since launching in 2010, the Charity Nest initiative has raised a staggering $4.9m for its partners, which aims to support children and their families doing it tough. For every margin point the Roosters win by, Steggles donates $1,000 and the Roosters donate $250 to the Steggles Roosters Charity Nest.
Ronald McDonald House Charities supports the needs of seriously ill children and their families. Since 2011, Steggles has been its National Kitchen Sponsor, supplying chicken to RMHC Australia-wide.
RMHC corporate partnerships manager Amy Holton said: “Since working with Steggles and Sydney Roosters on a number of initiatives, we’ve seen first-hand the genuine connection between the players and the kids.”
Sydney Children's Hospitals Foundation exists to promote charitable investment in the prevention and management of childhood illness, with a focus on kids and families receiving treatment or care in services provided by Sydney Children's Hospitals Network.
Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation corporate relationship manager Lauren Kara-George said the foundation looked forward to working alongside RMHC and Steggles.
“From working closely with the Steggles Charity Nest, it’s clear that the two brands have charity in their heart.”
Yash Gandhi, Steggles head of marketing said that supporting children’s charities had always been a focus for the business.
“We’re pleased that we can play a small part in helping support our charity partners continue to deliver the wonderful work they do for kids and their families doing it tough,” said Gandhi.
