Multi-national supplier of water treatment and pumping systems, Smith & Loveless Australia (S&L), has acquired CST Wastewater Solutions, aiming to merge the companies to provide more advanced wastewater technology services and capabilities. The companies have worked in partnership on projects throughout Australasia for more than 20 years.

CST Wastewater is a leading provider of wastewater service arrangements, which will be retained and extended under the new ownership. Managing director, Michael Bambridge, said in addition to retaining all technical support and service backup for existing customers, the association with S&L would accelerate the growth of both companies' technology and capabilities.

“This acquisition marks the next exciting chapter in the 30-plus year history of CST Wastewater Solutions,” said Bambridge.

“CST Wastewater is a premier provider of innovative wastewater treatment solutions throughout Australia and beyond, and now as part of S&L, I expect its reach will grow exponentially, greatly benefiting treatment works and other clean water processes.”

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

S&L stated the acquisition further solidifies its leadership position in wastewater inlet works and particle separation technologies, allowing the company to deliver to its industry partners and customers tremendous value leveraged through innovative equipment packages.

S&L president, Frank J. Rebori,said there was a synergy between the two companies, with CST Wastewater’s brand reputation and market leadership in municipal and industrial fine screens fitting with S&L’s global leadership in grit removal solutions.

“Smith & Loveless Australia will deliver the widest array of innovative and sustainable inlet works technologies for Australia and New Zealand,” said Rebori. “

“CST Wastewater’s emphasis on cost-effective and energy-efficient equipment solutions that facilitate recycling, lowering carbon footprints, and improving water quality matches with S&L’s family of companies whose mantra is ‘Protecting Water. Protecting People’.
