An electronically monitored rodent trap that communicates via email is set to be unleashed in facilities around Australia.

The new Alert24 traps are being introduced by Adams Pest Control to make for much easier management of traps and enable electronic reporting of rodent activity.

Messages are sent by email when activity is detected or service required. The Alert24 traps communicate via an on-site base station to secure servers.

These servers store the data, analyse it and present it on dedicated, password-protected web pages for each installation. Messages are be sent by email when activity is detected or service required.

These types of traps are already being used in the UK and US, and Adams Pest Control has been trialling them in preparation for implementation in Australia.

The traps are pesticide free, and because they are electronically monitored, only the active stations need visiting. This saves technicians time and allows protection in difficult to access areas such as roof voids.
