A new can sleeve labelling system that can apply sleeve labels to beverage cans and can also create a hygienic top seal for the can has been released by Sacmi Labelling of Italy, which is represented in Australia by HBM Plastics & Packaging Technologies.

According to HBM, the FormSleeve+ has already been adopted by a number of international beverage producers such as Coca Cola Mexico, San Benedetto Italy & Pepsi Central America.

This new technology is capable of line speeds of up to 51,000 cph, and it means stock piles of pre-printed cans are no longer required.

According HBM, it also delivers savings in wastage from obsolete can stock, improves flexibility in order processing, and reduces lead times, enabling quick adoption of market trends.

It also enables special short run promotions, personalisation of cans for special events and offers increased space options for advertising & communication on the product.

Also, sleeve changeover takes only one hour without the need to remove the empty cans from the line.
