Gruppo Campari's Wild Turkey celebrated World Whiskey Day last week with special Russell’s Reserve bourbon tastings and craft workshops.

The tasting took place in a tool shed-themed pop-up bar that sought to convey the idea of craftsmanship, to complement the tasting sessions and craft workshops on artisanal production methods that the company held through the week.

Russell's Reserve is a hand-crafted and small batch bourbon and rye whiskey created by Wild Turkey's master distillers Jimmy and Eddie Russell.

Wild Turkey brand ambassador Daniele Pirotti led the tasting and told attendees about Wild Turkey's dedication to craft to differentiate itself from other bourbon brands across the globe.

Pirotti spoke about how craft bourbon has emerged over the last few years at the forefront of the contemporary drinking scene.

He explained that Australian consumers have a newfound awareness of the quality of the spirit they are drinking, so much so that consumers will now request bartenders make their cocktail using their favourite brand of bourbon rather than blindly ordering it off the menu.
