Food and beverage companies who want to enter their most innovative new products into the independently run Product of the Year Awards 2015 have until 1 August.

The awards, which were founded in France in 1987, are now in their sixth year of operation in Australia. This year, alcoholic beverages are also being included for the first time.

Director of Product of the Year Australia, Sarah Connelly, said the awards raise the profile of new innovative products with companies reporting significant increases in sales as a result of winning and promoting the award.

“The Product of the Year winner’s stamp is a highly effective marketing tool that guides consumers to the most innovative products on the shelves. Awareness of the award is getting stronger each year and we are expecting another great year for innovation in Australia,” said Connelly.

All entries will be put before a panel of experts, led by Channel 9's Lisa Wilkinson. Around 16,000 Australian shoppers will also be surveyed to determine the winners.
