Coles and Woolworths are urgently recalling two NZ-manufactured private label cereal brands that they say may contain glass.

Both of the products were supplied by New Zealand breakfast cereal maker, Hubbards Foods Ltd.

Woolworths is recalling 250 gram packs of its Homebrand Honey Poppas with best before dates between July 7 to August 1, 2015 which were sold at Woolworths and Safeway.

Coles is recalling 600 gram packets of its Right Start Fruit and Fibre with a best before date of July 11, 2015 which were sold at Coles and Bi-Lo.

They have advised consumers not to eat the cereal as it may pose a health risk, and to return it to the store they bought it for a full refund.
