Parmalat has won five-year contracts to supply Woolworths' private label milk in NSW and South Australia.
Parmalat was the successful contender in the $100 million battle for Woolworths' house-brand milk contract in NSW, according to The Australian.
French-owned Parmalat makes a number of dairy brands in Australia including Paul’s, Rev and Breaka, and last year, it won a two-year Woolworths private label milk supply contract in NSW.
However, Lion, which makes the Dairy Farmers milk brand, has been Woolworths' South Australian supplier until now.
In the last couple of years, Lion has also lost private-label contracts with Woolworths in Victoria and Western Australia to Fonterra, and Coles' private-label contracts to Murray Goulburn and Norco.
Parmalat already supplies the milk for Woolworths' unhomogenised private-label 'Farmers Own' brand.
Lion retained its Tasmanian private-label contract with Woolworths.
