The Organic Dairy Farmers of Australia Co-op (ODFA), made up of 23 certified organic dairy farmers across Victoria, has doubled its production of organic butter from 100 tonnes to 200 tonnes in the space of a year.

ODFA first launched its organic butter into independent gourmet food outlets one year ago, and its CEO Bruce Symons says the factory in Camperdown now employs about 30 people, and that number will continue to grow as its products do.

In September, ODFA will also launch a new line of organic unsalted butter into independent food outlets.

Symons says the group is now also working on other artisan cheese and butter products, which will be available on the market in the next 12 months.
