Australian food company Menora Foods has been bought by the Filipino company that recently acquired Nudie: Monde Nissin Australia.

Menora Foods owns a number of brands like Wattle Valley and Peckish and distributes numerous others including Chia Pod, Chobani and Huon. Menora says Monde Nissin Corporation has the resources and experience to build the company in Australia and take its brands into new markets.

Menora Foods managing director Sam Schachna, said: “After a thorough strategic review, we are pleased to announce that Monde Nissin Australia will acquire Menora Foods with the intention to build on the existing business and to continue its current growth trajectory.

“Menora is experiencing strong growth and we believe that Monde Nissin is well placed to take the company through its next phase of development.”

Henry Soesanto, executive vice president of Monde Nissin Corporation said: “The combination of Menora’s own brands, Wattle Valley and Peckish as well as its leading agency brands, combined with Monde Nissin’s category leading Black Swan and Nudie brands, provides a solid platform within the Australian and export markets to support growth and new opportunities."

Menora Foods was founded 45 years ago in Melbourne as a small specialty food wholesaler, and it now operates nationally and employs over 150 people.

The company’s multi-million-dollar facility is in Melbourne's Noble Park, which includes warehousing for dry, chilled, frozen and confectionery products.
