Garlo's Pies, the Sydney-based bakery business founded by former rugby league captain Sean Garlick, is expanding into Queensland starting with 160 Coles stores across the state.

The company said its NSW success has led to across the border demand from Queensland and the company will start with seven product lines in Queensland supermarkets.

Garlo's founder, former Sydney Roosters and South Sydney Rabbitohs captain Sean Garlick, originally partnered with his pastry chef apprentice brother Nathan, opening a small pie shop in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs.

He said they had been in talks for quite some time regarding the Queensland expansion, and the brand is looking to expand internationally.

Stores began stocking at the end of March and more locations will be added in the near future.
