Murray Cod Australia non-executive director, Steven Chaur, will become managing director and CEO from 20 April 2026. Mat Ryan (co-founder, executive director – production and development) and Roger Commins (non-executive director), will remain as Interim joint CEOs until that time.

The board told the market on 6 February that from 20 February, company co-founder, Ross Anderson, would no longer be CEO or an executive director.

Chaur will remain on the board as a non-executive director until his start date.

MCA chair, Brett Paton, said the appointment would sharpen the company’s market focus as it targets sustainable growth.

“We are pleased to welcome Steven Chaur, who brings a strong commercial focus and will be tasked with increasing proactivity in domestic channel development, growing revenues and optimising operating efficiencies to ensure the business achieves sustainable growth over the long term,” Paton said.

The company stated: “Chaur brings close to 30 years’ experience across sales, brand marketing, product development and operations leadership in Australian FMCG and large-scale agricultural production, with exposure to both B2C and B2B customers across supermarkets, foodservice, wholesale and export markets in developed Asia.

“His previous CEO and managing director roles include Hiro Brands, Castlegate James Australasia, Nutrano Produce Group and Patties Food Limited, alongside senior executive roles at George Weston Foods, Simplot Australia and Unilever, among others.”
