Bulla Dairy Foods has appointed former Diageo finance director Allan Hood as its new chief executive officer.

The appointment of Hood, who has been acting CEO for the last five months, is effective immediately.

Hood replaces former chief Reg Weine, who recently took the helm at Coca-Cola Amatil's fruit processing operation, SPC.

In November 2013, he was appointed as Bulla's chief financial officer. Prior to this, Hood was senior financial officer at Diageo’s manufacturing facilities across the UK, Middle East & India, Jamaica and Tanzania.

His role at Bulla will reportedly involve increasing its export business, as well as streamlining its operations, internal culture and new business.

Bulla Dairy Foods chairman Ian Sloan said Hood’s strong level of experience in managing global finance initiatives and his extensive knowledge of mergers and acquisitions made him a perfect fit for Bulla.
